A young public college that is both unique and prestigious!

Photo du collège

The only French speaking college on the West Island of Montréal, Collège Gérald-Godin is designed for a student population of 1100. The college offers quality instruction and personalized attention in an environment that is on the cutting edge of new technology. Collège Gérald-Godin offers programs that lead to university studies as well as technical programs that lead students directly to the workforce. Collège Gérald-Godin has also pioneered a unique system in which teachers from different subject areas are grouped together in program departments. This new system permits better communication between teachers within a program as well as facilitating a closer relationship with students.

In terms of academic performance, Collège Gérald-Godin has been classified among the best public colleges in Québec in terms of student results. In addition, it is an institution that puts great importance on the use of the latest information technology and electronic communication. For example, the College provides access to the Internet, an intranet, Omnivox, e-mail addresses, multimedia laboratories, digitized equipment, computerized classrooms with digital projectors, and an online library!

The College also benefits from an enchanting site on the shores of the "Rivière des Prairies". The building itself has won several prizes for its architecture including the Prize of Excellence from the magazine "Canadian Architect" in 1999. In addition, within the College there is a professional concert hall known as "la Salle Pauline-Julien" that is open to the public. It is dedicated to the presentation of productions by well known Québec artists.

Collège Gérald-Godin openly challenges its students to realise the best of themselves and nothing less! The dedicated teaching staff is always ready to guide students through their learning. Students also have a team of personal and career counsellors at their disposal. In addition, students have access to a well equipped gymnasium as part of a modern sports centre which is also home to the College’s sports teams. For example, in 2003 Godin’s female soccer team were Québec champions. These facilities are also home to many other student activities. It should therefore come as no surprise that College Gérald-Godin is increasingly the number one choice of French speaking college students on the West Island!

College Gérald-Godin offers special support for Anglophone
